"This is a lovely hotel, with charm and character. Staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were cozy, clean and warm, which was great as it was freezing outside! The bathroom also clean and in good condition - the shower was great! The location was also better than we thought - we were able to get to other lakes and towns, a shopping outlet and even the coast within 30-60min drive. The only 'quirk' with this hotel was that at each breakfast, we got a different portion size, despite ordering...

"The best B&B in the Lakes! We stayed for two nights in Dec 2024 and could not fault this place & will definitely be returning. It is finished to a high standard throughout, very comfortable and the staff are brilliant. It’s a great base for exploring the Lakes, either hiking, cycling, running etc and there is a boot room to dry wet clothes etc. The breakfast is delicious with a great selection including a hot fresh cooked to order option. "We thought the hosts were really lovely and the location of the guesthouse was ideal for us for walking. There are two pubs within walking distance which serve fantastic food: Coledale inn and Royal Oak. However, we had a downstairs room and seemed to have been really unlucky with the guests upstairs who woke us up every hour during the night. Thankfully, we were only staying a couple of nights as we were absolutely exhausted by the end. Would recommend a stay, just maybe ask for an upstairs...
