"Given that it was my first time to Palermo, I didn't know what to expect regarding our accommodations at the Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa. Upon entering the lobby, we knew it was going to be indeed "grand" and live up to its name. The staff was both helpful and friendly and our deluxe double rooms were much larger than one normally encounters in Europe. The hotel is perfectly situated in an area where everything is convenient - from restaurants and bars to shopping and major local attractions. We had a minor maintenance issue during our stay, but it was promptly repaired as soon as we alerted the front desk. More importantly though, this is a hotel where the staff is willing to go above and beyond. When we encountered an issue with our rental car while parking to check in, the hotel General Manager Signore Tintori personally intervened on our behalf, especially valuable since none of us spoke Italian. He quickly diffused the situation and alleviated a problem that could have escalated. He even took the time to follow up the next day to ensure everything was in good order. We couldn't have managed without his assistance. Without hesitation, we would return to this property when visiting Palermo again."

"The staff in the lobby and the restaurant on the 7th floor were phenomenal. The cover in the room had a few stains and the bathroom floor wasn't cleaned daily and was dirty when we arrived. Breakfast had a great selection of foods with hot and cold choices. The buffet dinner was very good as well and very reasonably priced. The hotel needs renovating and updating. Especially the bathroom. All this being said we did enjoy our stay."
