"I’ve been staying at the Luma since it first opened. I return each time because the Luma ticks every box of what I’m looking for in a luxury Hotel. The Luma has a great vibe. It’s modern but chic. You walk into your room and it’s like walking into a quiet sanctuary. No expense is spared on the furnishing and the amenities offered. The staff go above and beyond to help with any requests. "First off, it is a classic SF icon of a hotel. (And the Fairmont across the street has rooms like the Mark since both hotels are 'seniors' yet classic beautiful public areas). The IHG group purchased it in 1973 and even during the late 90s it was still well maintained and didn't show its age). However now, it is showing its age! The rooms are meh since they are clearly aging (and NOT in a super classic way) and are very dated. The place needs a renov! Would I stay there again? Probably not. But...

"Stayed two nights, mostly working so didn't get to use the pool or spend time in the restaurant, but the highlight of this hotel has to be the service. The entire team was friendly, engaged, and professional. I interacted with daytime front desk, overnight front desk, the team at ground floor handling bags and greeting guests, and team members bringing food (ordered to room), etc. and had consistently positive experiences.
