Reception was very kind allowed us to chose another room; which we did and it was much better. it was one we had chosen, we were only changed as it was thought we couldn't manage the stairs or the shower in the bath. everyone helped us change rooms and carried our luggage downstairs when we left."

"I thought that the property was economical for what little amount of time I was spending there. Even though the room was clean, the shower curtain had a lot of mold on it and needed to be replaced. The bathroom really needed an update/renovation. An elevator/lift is needed at this location. "

"We were looking for an overnight relaxing stay and this hotel was exactly what we needed. Everything you want for a relaxing time is provided for . Our room was a good size, quiet and very comfortable. The hotel is steeped in history, and the building is incredibly quirky dating back to the 15th century. Many historical figures have stayed here, including Horatio Nelson! We would like to single out in particular a member of staff called Horace, whose hospitality went above and beyond at all...

"Absolutely loved our stay here. When i first arrived i thought the gentleman behind the bar was a little surly - when asked him about parking he said twice its all in the email - however because I booked through expedia i didnt get an email from the place. However, from there on everything was perfect. We had room 9 and the cleanliness was outstanding. Lovely little touches like bottled water, lovely coffee pods and beach towels. Extremely quiet too. Would definitely return."

"I stayed alone due to attending an early running event the following morning. I was warmly greeted by the host upon arrival and immediately shown my room which was clean and comfortable. There was a chair, a TV and tea making facilities with an ensuite shower room. The bed was very comfortable and helped deliver a good sleep. Highly recommended, I'll happily return next time I'm in the area."
