"A relatively small hotel that still maintains it's heritage. Staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. The area around the hotel has seen better days but there are plenty of options within walking distance if you are doing the tourist things. The money we saved by staying here was well spent on a fantastic meal at Ministry of Crab!"

"Good central location in Colombo with at least two shopping centers nearby - one block away from the sea but there is no real beach there. You can still go enjoy the sunset. The room was ok for - quite large for its price, reasonably clean, but definitely required some maintenance in the bathroom. "We arrived on Christmas Eve after a 7hr taxi journey, we were greeted with a welcome drink and very friendly staff. Once escorted to our room which had an amazing view of the ocean, we discovered that the lock on our door was held on with gaffer tape and the barrel could be pushed out with your finger. The management said 'it maybe fixed before you leave it may not' So after a bit more gaffer tape and feeling totally secure in our room we also discovered the place was filthy dirty and hadn't...

Housekeeping staff should be trained to check on details. Would not recommend for families who are particular about cleanliness.
