"This is a very rustic property with lots of character. I didn't partake, but was told the included breakfast was very good (apparently the chef is a pastry chef) the room was comfy, and the area was serene. If you stay here you have access to the natural hot pools 24/7. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed 4 days and it was nicely convenient to a lot of places. "The property was older and was only up to date in the kitchen and bathroom. The surrounding area was somewhat messy and hadn’t been cleaned in a while. There were no services provided aside of clean towels. The laundry area was very messy. "

"We were a group of 17 seniors who booked out the whole motel. As it's an older building there was plenty of space for sharing and lovely lawns. We were back off the busy main road so we're not disturbed by traffic noise. We could walk to the Skyline gondola and were right next door to the rabbit mini golf. We played at night. So beautiful with the real rabbits and all the lights. The owners were very helpful and quick to fix any issues we had."

"Our hosts Danny & Mabel were highly attentive and their property is a wonderfully secluded villa amongst the vibrant landscape of Aotearoa New Zealand. Mabel’s morning breakfast is a delight with various fruits and jams all coming from the garden. The proximity to central Rotorua is also within a 15 minute drive. This location is highly recommended. "

"We loved our time with Louise at Doolan's!!! It is about 15 minutes outside of Rotorua (far from any sulphur smell!). Louise made DELICIOUS breakfasts each morning and the common living area is very spacious with fabulous view. Our room was small, but completely adequate because of the large living space. The bed was quite comfy. The grounds are lovely!!! Louise was a delightful host."

Close enough to Rotarua for trips in and shopping, but isolated enough to feel like you’re off grid. Amazing - we loved it. Thank you Heather. Recommend the Wai Ariki hot springs and spa as well - Restorative journey - pure luxury - we were on our own there in the evening. "
