The large reception area is very impressive, it is a lovely place to sit and look at the stair area which uses marble and cast iron. The hotel function rooms are large and have high ceilings. The best feature is the swimming pool which is just perfect and has a hot tub next to it. Breakfast is by a hot buffet. "

"Ok.. this place is cheap, i mean super cheap! You are not staying at the savoy, so drop your expectation and you wont be disappointed! Its clean, staff are lovely. Their beds i can only assume they got from guantanamo bay! My god ive never slept on something so uncomfortable. Its in need of some desperate renovation to bring it upto todays standards. Again.... its cheap as a campsite so i wasnt expecting too much. However for the price we paid.... id not discount it again should i be...

"location is good about 12 to 15 mins walk from train station and easy to find straight down Botchergate, and easy to walk to the main square with lots of bars and eateries, room was fine with en suite bathroom , good shower, fresh towels and tea making facilities, good value in comparison to other places, if staying in Carlisle again i would try to stay here "
