"Generally very good. Only negative issue was road noise. The windows are old sash style and block no road noise whatsoever and resulted in very little sleep - but I'm a light sleeper. Take earplugs and you'll be fine."

"The Abbey is stunning, the staff couldn’t have been nicer. The room called the Refectory was lovely. The Bar really lets the place down, it looks like an early 90’s conference area, completely out of keeping with the rest of the hotel. The room we had was disappointing, it was a Superior with Feature. It said it had living space, but it was a separate room with a bed in it and nothing else. The main room had way to much furniture in it, which left only the space round the bed. It was silly...

"Step back in time in The George! A throwback to a bygone age, when people were shorter and bathrooms were carpeted. It's a lovely, quirky old building; as long as you embrace the dated decor and topsy-turvy layout you'll have a perfectly fine stay. The staff are friendly and welcoming, check-in was easy, and the room was warm and comfortable. The car park is accessed from the front via a very narrow horse and carriage entrance. "Great hotel for the price, right at the top end of the main street. Comfy bed with quality bedding. Lovely pub downstairs, with TV screens. Marked down slightly on comfort, as other guests leaving in the am, going past the door, wake you up, if you'd like a bit of a lie-in. "
