"Excellent place to stay in the middle of the forest. The view of the Volcano is mesmerizing. The Birds around the property are amazing. They put the food for the birds at 6.30 am and 1.30 pm, they forgot to put it in the morning when we were there. The birds still came looking for it as I was there from 5.30 am. Still the place was worth it. Reasonable breakfast. "

"Beautiful place with an outstanding view across the lake and a very nice pool area. We enjoyed the birds attracted to the flowers planted everywhere. The unit was spacious and very pleasant with a sitting area outside. The only downside was that we did not enjoy the hotel's lunch and dinner service but the cook may change and there are close-by alternatives. "

"The staff at Hotel Kokoro were pleasant, and accommodating. When we had a tour departing before breakfast opened they made 3 to go bags for us to take the next morning. If you’re looking for a quiet place that’s on the pick up list for day tours and not in the middle of the tourist area, Kokoro is great. "

"This is more rustic than newer hotels in the area, but it makes up for it by larger than normal rooms with a desk, a large refrigerator, a water closet in addition to a bathroom with a double vanity and large walk-in shower. The price includes a full breakfast from 7 am - 9 am. There is a restaurant on-site but during my stay, it was only open the first night of my stay, Sunday evening. "Comfortable rooms and lots of amenities on-premise. Slightly far from the bus stop for airport or for other places in Costa Rica (but still walk-able), but close to the National Museum and it's not like there's many other things to see in San Jose. "

The staff was tip notch helping point out the sloths in the tress around the property as well as accommodating us for a special night tour of their sister property because we were only there one night before we left to head back home. Would have loved to stay longer in this area and explore more that it has to offer. "
