"This lovely hotel is full of charm, the entrance and foyer is beautiful. Rooms were spacious and clean, I would say however that overall the whole place could do with a lick of paint. The outside, halls and room just look a little bit tired and with minimum effort (paint/ re-stain the bathroom wood) this hotel could be back to its absolute best. That being said those things are only cosmetic and I will 100% be staying again"

"Good location right near the train station and bus terminal. It's quieter than I expected - I only actually hear trains if I was paying attention. Room was decent for price and perfect for 1 person. Hotel looks new and well kept."

"This is such a lovely place to stay. Right by the station, not too expensive, really nice staff and clean. Sure it is a bit dated and parts of it could do with a refresh but my room had been recently renovated and i loved being so central."

"The Coal Exchange is a unique hotel in a very convenient spot for Cardiff Bay. Steeped in history. Good value. Downside for us was room was very dark and whilst there was a dressing table there was no stool nor light so you couldnt use it... it was so dark in that part of our 3 people room ( 102) . There were also no extra pillows as you normally would have. Some of the staircases needed a good hoover and clean. Its such a lovely place just needs tlc and attention to those details that matter....

Tired room - clean but needed a refurb. One of just 2 lift cars was out of order. Fire alarm went off twice - during the day luckily. "

"As normal with Village hotels - very well catered for all need. Usual big car park and amazing gym This was my second stay this week and unfortunately ruined by other guests being very load at 2AM and then 6AM. "
