"We had a lovely experience at this hard-to-fault country house hotel. Noticeably, nothing looked, worn, old or tired. We slept in Room 10 which overlooks the garden and which, going by the fire safety plan on the back of the door, looks to be the largest room on the 1st floor and yes, it's big! Very comfortable 6-foot bed (proper ‘king size') and nice to have a central ceiling light as well as wall and side-table lamps. The bathroom was not huge but adequate, with a large walk-in shower...

"Friendly and helpful staff. Good food in the pub/restaurant on site. The breakfast area is separate from the pub area, which we thought was a nice touch. Room was a good size (it was the Stratton Suite). Water was great pressure in the shower. Just one small thing. The door at the top of the stairs needs some WD40!"

The room was large enough clean and warm, the bed had a solid frame, the mattress was softer than my preference but my wife was happy. The bathroom was large with a spacious powerful shower.
