"Overnight stay en route home. Room was well presented, clean and tidy. Three spoilers, 1 stairs and landings looked as though they hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. 2 Fire alarm (false alarm) went off at 00.20 and other guest said this was a regular occurrence. 3 No hot water in bathroom no matter how long I let the tap run. Food and service were excellent."

We ate dinner in the bar because we had our dog with us but it was so cosy and the menu is the same as the restaurant. The food was all delicious! The cooked breakfast is one of the best we’ve had. "This is such a lovely hotel and we’ll definitely use it again. From when we first stepped in until we left this morning, we were made to feel welcome. The food is a real treat (haggis bonbons and the fleet iron steak were to die for). The room was a touch of luxury, well stocked with tea and coffee, fresh milk in the fridge and a breakfast in the room. It was all spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. We’ve come away feeling like we’ve been spoilt! "
