"The hotel was good. The rooms had nice furniture and they were clean. The location was spot on for what we needed. Could walk into the city along the river. Bar is a typical old pub with fantastic features. Beer garden was really nice. Think the hotel is going through some updating and it’s needed but would stay again for sure "

"The place itself was lovely a little dated in the bedrooms but so clean, short walk to the shambles, food at the hotel was fantastic excellent price, can recommend the Eggs Benedict for breakfast, outside lovely seating area right by the river and last but not least staff are so welcoming very attentive 5 star service will be going back again "

"A gorgeous Georgian mansion converted into comfortable accommodations. Curving staircases and stuccoed ceilings. The staff are genuinely kind and helpful. Much more characterful than a cheap chain hotel. "

"I enjoyed the stay, particularly use of a drcent sized pool and a steam room. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Staff were warm and welcoming. The hotel itself is a little dated and could do with a sympathetic makeover of the decor. It is located about 25 - 30 minutes walk to the city centre, but there is a bus service from just opposite. "
