"This hotel has an amazing history and needs to be supported so it can be preserved. Our room was a really good size (triple) and had a separate dressing area. The breakfast was excellent value. The bathroom is due a revamp but was still serviceable. Make sure you check out the piano bar and main stairwells."

"This is an exceptionally good hotel, all the usual facilties, good free wifi, comfortable bed, good shower, excellent dining room and breakfasts with good choice of breakfast. Good restaurant within the hotel with reasonably priced meals. Staff very helpfull. The only downside was no mirror in the bathroom so had to use own small mirror to shave by."

"Lovely place, **very** friendly and professional staff and spotless rooms. The restaurant staff were top-notch, and on the night the food was excellent. I have not stopped talking to my friends about the chicken liver pate I had, that was superb. Breakfast was also extremely well cooked and presented, and to top it all up, the prices were reasonable. The free pool/spa/gym was the icing on the cake. My wife and I would certainly recommend it, and we will happily visit again. "

"I stayed for 2 nights whilst working in the area and despite some terrible reviews, I found it to be more than reasonable, with good access to local amenities, parking was great on site and I was able to use it for the 3 days of work, and it was clean too. Staff were friendly and helpful, the coffees from the bar were also decent, and it was quiet at night too. "Lovely room, boutique feel. Bed was huge and some great original features of the room retained and good location. Warm welcome on arrival. The downside was after booking i found that we had to check in by 530pm and there was no one on site after this time. Wouldn't put me off booking again though "

"Great stay, lovely staff, and a building full of character! Breakfast and the pool were truly awesome, too. The only downside was some furniture/equipment needing a bit of love (door knob broken on the bedside table, screw on the window loose, hook behind the door in the changing rooms of the pool broken etc), plus a bit of noise from the road but really nothing major at all, it was a lovely stay overall"
