"Good location in Nagano. The ground floor has a strong smell, and the you can tell they once allowed smoking in the hotel. Otherwise it is a fine hotel for a stay in Nagano. PS no personal climate control in your room, just on/off for whatever the building is pumping. The beds are SUPER soft, my partner loved it but too soft for me."

"Wonderful ryokan-style hotel. Stayed for 2 nights with half-board, and the meals (dinner and breakfast) were excellent. The staff were attentive and engaging, taking the time to introduce the dinner menu to us. Chose this place for my children's first ski experience. Just a 30-minute drive to Shiga Kogen where all the ski resorts are. The hotel offers both indoor and outdoor onsens. Simply superb for a hot, relaxing soak after a day on the ski slopes. Highly recommended! "

"One of the best place to experience outdoor onsen at 1800m up in the mountain. Not a lot to do outside winter season if you do not drive. The surrounding is beautiful and an hour drive away from the Snow Monkey Park."

"I was here for an 8-day ski trip, 6 nights in a Western-style room, and 1 night in a Japanese-style room. The hotel is very spacious and I really like the rustic/quaint atmosphere. I really liked that the western room had a couch. Made full use of the onsen and ski locker room in the basement. Free Kaiseki Breakfast was very convenient. We were in the King Suite, a 2 bedroom/2 bath with a living room. Super spacious, modern living. It is located a very short walk to the base & ticket office.
