"The Solmar Resort is one of those rare finds that is too good to be true, except it is. The Property: Immaculate. On the beach. Whales, by the hundreds (yes, hundreds) swimming by, breaching, and playing so close to the shoreline, you could almost reach out and touch them. An Expedia Special VIP upgrade put us in a full suite, high floor with two balconies, the Whale Watching Sky Box, I'd say. Pools perfect for lounging as long as you care to. "Beautiful views of ocean, numerous whale sightings for far less costs than the large resort hotels. It is located at a very nice surfing area with surf equipment and beginner training. There are two very good restaurants next door. Not much else within walking distance but Uber works well and is very reasonable so you can get to virtually any attraction. On the weekend there was very loud music that lasted until 10pm. but then it was quiet. "
