"Greeted with a warm and kind welcome. Very easy to find and plenty of parking on site. It was a perfect choice for the 1 night stay we had in breaking a long drive from the north of Scotland to south yorkshire. Food and drink in the inn was very nice and the service by the staff likewise. Breakfast was included in the cost of the stay and we knew it was going to be as good as its past reviews. A lovely compact room, spotless with lovely little touches such as a great selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, a fresh little bottle of milk, a comfy bed, feather duvet, black out curtains, great shower and toiletries. "Exceptional hospitality. Staff were particularly friendly and attentive. Location suited us - not too far from Durham city centre, but particularly convenient for our visits to Beamish and Tanfield Railway. Room was clean and well-appointed. Food was amazing!
