"The hotel is beautiful with a lot of charm and character and our room was lovely. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was poor and could easily be improved. The eggs benedict and the veggie breakfast were both quite tasteless. The selection of pastries and cereals etc were good though. I'm sure last time we stayed here the cooked breakfast was better. Strangly the curtains covered the radiator and so blocked some of the heat but the room was still warm....

"Staff were great. I had to ask for a clean cup as the ones in my room looked like they hadn't been washed properly. The tray which the tea and coffee was dusty. I think that the bedrooms could possibly do with a bit of make over. But other than that everything was ok."

"Lovely old inn loads of character. Rooms are basic but clean and the bathroom was epically large. Bar food good and a few different options. Couldn't be easier for the town centre and train and the staff were helpful and friendly "

"Two night stay for wedding at nearby Elmore Court. Great food and service from the staff. Only downside was a room with little external soundproofing (noisy during night) and a draughty window. All in all though, decent value for price paid. "

"Clean, courtyard room did not feel safe for a lone traveller. Bed room door opened straight onto outdoor courtyard, which was open to a public road. The lock on the door was not sufficient for an external door. "

We got tickets to see The Three Musketeers next door which was playing per the recommendations of the lady working at the pub across from the Kemble rail station on our arrival. It was a top notch performance in an intimate setting & now we would recommend if you are staying in the area don’t miss staying in this gorgeous hotel & definitely go to a play!!"
