"Very enjoyable and relaxing 3 days at Ryokusuiten. The staff there are the best. Enjoyed in-room hotspring and nightly Kaiseiki. We pre-ordered different dinner for each night with very reasonable added price. Would love to go back again."

"This is a gorgeous property and really peaceful. The staff service was wonderful and attentive. We lost our bag on a public bus and the staff drove us to the police station to file a report, giving us a couple hours of their time, and were helpful throughout. The room was great, if a little cold in January, but they provided heating and thick blankets. The private bath was wonderful, especially after they taught us how to heat the tub."

"Super unique experience off the beaten path to stay in a beautiful Ryokan. Would be great for a value with larger families, but be prepared to understand the busses or get a taxi, not a ton to do in the immediate area. On the other hand, staff was nice, limited but plenty of English with my terrible Japanese. Food was excellent and beautifully plated. Rooms were truly amazing, one of my favorite things on my travels."

"We stayed in satoyama room with 5 people, which was perfect fit. We enjoyed our room with the open air bath and shower outside, a living room and the sleeping room. The room had 2 separate toilet rooms. Breakfast and dinner were of japanese cuisine, amazing!! We used the public bath and it was beautiful. Hotel perfect for watching sunrise. It was beautiful view of lake as well. The hotel also had a little arcade and a wine bar and cafe and had massage services. They helped us carry our stuff to...

"I liked the fact that there was 2 public baths and a sauna. The price was super reasonable. I really liked the quietness of the town. It was like Kyoto (without a bunch of tourists). I would like to stay there again to relax."
