"The guesthouse was absolutely gorgeous and in a stunning part of Japan. We rented a car in Matsumoto and used the guesthouse as a base for visiting Kamikochi. The hotel is bright and cheery. The rooms are a generous size. The futons comfortable. Perhaps the best thing of all was the private onsen. The dining options around are a little limited- very few are open at night. There are more soba lunch options but we were out walking. We went to both Abbey Road and Springbank which were fine. "

"Room/services/meal were all fantastic. However, the location is quite far from the nearest bus stop. It is a challenge if you travel with big luggage. Shuttle service (certain hour) between hotel and bus stop would help improve the rating. Room rate is rather expensive."

"Very close to Hirayo Nihi bus center, Staff is very friendly and full of service mind. (She explained all about hotel layout, open hour of each onsen, confirmed for checkout time, stand by for early check-out) There are more than 10 open-air onsens, and more 2 private onsen you can choose to relax. Another thing I was appreciated is a van for going to "Ankiya restaurant" provided by Hirayunomori, and it is my best restaurant for my 10-days-trip. "

"Just the very best service you could hope for. Imacutetly clean, but I’d go for a two tier futon next time, just having one mattress wa a fraction uncomfortable. The breakfast was amazing. Don’t miss out. The hot spring was all ours for the entire stay. The small restaurant just up the hill, 3 min walk was ok. "
