"Excellent location. Close to bus station and in the heart of Old Town with amazing shopping and restaurant options. Best part of hotel was the very friendly and helpfuf staff. I arrived early and my room was not ready so my luggage was stored and I was given a tag to retrieve. "I had a wonderful stay at this hotel despite it being somewhat modest, lacking a proper lobby. However, the reception from and care by India, the property manager was exceptional. "I travelled to the Tourotel expecting the worst given a lot of the reviews, and was pleasantly surprised and can only suggest those giving such poor reviews haven't stayed in ski accommodation before or hadn't looked at any of the photos. "The location of Hotel des lacs is perfect for someone who wants to be in Chamonix for UTMB because downtown is only a short walk giving easy access to race activities and restaurants. The Hotel is located across the street from a beautiful park with a little lake. Our room was clean quiet and simple. Breakfast was available for a small additional charge. The staff was friendly and helpful. We felt at home."
