"I’ve been to many capsules across Japan and my stay here was at the too. Yes, I’ve stayed in Kyoto, Osaka, but wanted to spend a few days in Ōtsu and experience a slower pace and so glad I did! The reviews on Google and Orbitz rated The Calendar high so I gave it a try and I was not disappointed. However, I do need to mention if you are sensitive to smell you might notice the slight scent of smoke. "Wow, I did not expect that a pocket hotel is better than other regular hotels. We got the room with 2 mattresses. I like how the washroom is being cleaned often and there r clean& comfortable pyjamas, disposable slippers and toothbrushes. I also like how the laundry is in the hotel and there are lots of tables and chairs in the lounge area. It is also close to the train station. "

"this place is amazing. me and two friends stayed in a room with 3 separate beds. it was perfect. the room design was beautiful. space was excellent within context of Japanese hotels. the shower and sink are separate from the toilet room which made it extremely convenient when getting ready. the location is amazing. walking distance from the best restaurants and bars in kyoto located along the river and another short walk to Gion. the staff was incredibly nice and professional. I can't recommend...
