"The purpose for our visit was to relax quietly after a busy 6 days in Tokyo and Kyoto and experience a traditional Japanese ryokan accommodation and that’s exactly what we got. Our room could not have been more spacious (we did have the largest room) with an indoor balcony with two chairs that looked over the small garden, a large sleeping space and separate private bathroom and porch area. "The picture, the huge crab aquarium at the entrance, the crab marking on the room numbers tell it all, this is a Ryokan for eating really good crab. Sakai, is a far place, and it is pretty old and run down, but it would all be worth it for the crab. So you can imagine my surprise when I learned that despite it being crab season my dinner doesn't have any crab. Had they informed me in check-in that my dinner didn't have crab, I would've been slightly upset that I had to pay a few hundred...

"This resort appears to be popular with families with little kids. We got a room with 2 beds and 2 futons so it was larger than the usual futon only rooms. It had a bathroom but no shower, with expectations that you would shower at the onsen. They had free parking which was nice. The breakfast was the best buffet breakfast of our trip with lots of items to choose from. "
