"Staff was friendly and helpful. They spoke English so if I was not there, my partner that did not speak Japanese would be comfortable speaking with them. Located about 10-15min from Kyoto station was the best since we travelled out often. I would have to say, the bedding and desk had thick layer of dust. "Absolutely loved this hotel. The location was fantastic, easy walking to the station with our bags, but also walking to the tourist sites, restaurants and shops around it. Booked a room with the loft bunks. So spacious, even had a lounge area and table to sit at. The kids loved the bunks and the space to have bags out, space to hang coats and to hang out after long days etc. The hotel provides a kitchen and lounge space which was great to have our breakfast at, and I saw others eating take away...

"I’ve been to many capsules across Japan and my stay here was at the too. Yes, I’ve stayed in Kyoto, Osaka, but wanted to spend a few days in Ōtsu and experience a slower pace and so glad I did! The reviews on Google and Orbitz rated The Calendar high so I gave it a try and I was not disappointed.
