He kindly took us around the area, pointing out places and discussing history and culture with us. We learned a lot. He also showed us an amazing collection of reed birds and gave us a really informative lesson in nature."

However, be prepared that they only accept cash, the rooms are not heated, our stay on October 3rd 2024 was extremely cold. Nestor is a pleasant host, and gave us a tour of Uros island on our way back to shore. Note that the showers have limited access to hot water, and the toilet is a dry toilet, also there is no WiFi and limited cellular signal. "Staying on the Uros islands is highly recommended. The rate includes amazing breakfast and Dinners cooked for you. As well as boat transportation from Puno to the hotel. The staff arranged a tour for us to Taquile island and the rest of the parts of Uros islands. The cultural experience is amazing. The staff were so nice and attended to our every need. You won't get a chance ti stay on a floating island made of reeds anywhere else so we highly advise you to try it!"

"Wow - the hosts were incredibly kind and hospitable. Starting with being woken when we arrived at 5 in the morning and allowing us to check in after our long bus trip!!! They also made us an early breakfast before we went on our tour that same morning!! Our room was huge and airy and with a lovely hot shower. We slept so well - the bed was so comfy and warm and the room was quiet. The hosts also let us stow our bags on the day of checkout and let us wait in their lobby for the late night bus....
