"Probably the best value hotel room I’ve stayed in. Yes, the hotel is old, dated and in urgent need of some repair. BUT for £60 for a large room, castle view and walkable distance to all of the tourist attractions, it’s a good deal. Not sure what the deal was with the little homemade sandwiches in the foyer though….? Btw, I’m actually a local resident and was staying here for one night while I was exchanging/completing on my property. Served its purpose well. "

"Quaint hotel in the middle of renovations so no food or drinks available. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms clean but bathrooms small. Towels new and extra large very nice. All considered a good stay and would recommend "

"Good little short stay, not much choice for take aways., only fish N chips or Chinese nearby. Stay was fine comfortable. "

"An old style coaching inn. Room was freshly decorated and clean with good facilities. It was a little tight for space - glad we didn’t have big suitcases. Service and staff were excellent with extremely good breakfast and dinner. Also very dog friendly. "

"Have stayed at the fox a few times over the years it in a great position at junction 5 of the M40 The room i stayed in had been refufurbished and restaurant had recently been refurshished I would recommend the hotel maybe as a stop before getting into London "
