Staff were friendly and accommodating, the beer was good and the full english veggie breakfast the ideal precursor to some stiff walking. "

"A brief but very pleasant stay! I slept over before a trail marathon the early the next morning in Grizedale Forest. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. They offered to run me down to the start line, I needed my car, but that was very kind! They supplied me with coffee at 6:15am made my porridge and provided a a take away sausage sarnie which I ate when I finished the race and was like heaven at that point! The room was very clean and comfortable for the night and I had a lovely meal at...

"Lovely stay in The Ruskin room Good shower Fluffy towels Tea and coffee and cute bottle milk Just missing a few biscuits( cheeky) Single paned shash windows bit noisy/ cold in the bathroom/ bay window .Lovely scenery 4pm bit late for checking in and would like a 11am check out would be beneficial. "Grateful to the Greystoke for stepping in at the last minute after a previous booking elsewhere was cancelled. A quiet location but close enough for walking into the town. No problems booking in or during the 3 days stay. Beware of the big breakfasts - you may not want to move afterwards - but they set you up nicely for the day of exploring the area. A great view from the street on a crisp sunny day."
