"The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to the central station and in the old centre of Amsterdam. The room was small but clean and I slept very well. Great little hotel."

"Very welcoming and attentive. The man in reception was friendly and was willing to offer extra towels/pillows if requested. The bathroom and communal areas were clean. The bed was very comfortable too - I had a double and it took up the room. It didn’t bother me but it might others if they need space. The accommodation is very convenient only a few mins from Centraal and loads of shops/bars nearby. This is no fault of the location but it can get quite noisy outside FYI. "

"Really enjoyed our stay. Room had all we needed and local area had good spots (cafe de cuevel & klaproos for pizza!). Great location for easy travel into central and for the straat museum too. Staff at Poppies were super friendly and helped us out, as our first room was a bit noisy and we got upgraded no issues. Thanks for having us - we will definitely recommend this place"

"We've just had 4 nights at the Hotel Clemens with our (almost) 3 year old. After tackling the stairs you are greeted with a wonderful lounge offering drinks and snacks all day. The staff are all wonderful and cant do enough for you. Our little boy was treated like a prince and he has come home with wonderful memories. Yes the rooms are small and the stairs are steep but this gem of a hotel is worth every step. We cant wait to come back!"

"We were nervous arriving at this hotel as some reviews were horrific! We were delighted to find that the room and en-suite bathroom were absolutely spotless. Yes, the stairs are a bit grubby and *very* steep but so were every other stairs we came across in Amsterdam. Yes, the beds are probably narrower and closer together than some other hotels, but they were absolutely clean and combined with the fantastic location we were delighted at this find.
