Hosts are very friendly but leave you to enjoy the room in peace with the proviso that they are only a message away should you need anything. Backbarrow weirs In the background is the high and gnarly Backbarrow weir, which has been run in much higher water levels than seen here, at grade 5+. In the foreground is a much more runnable weir reached quickly after portaging the nasty weir on river left. In the low water level seen here, this is a bit of a bump down, but at higher levels develops a strong stopper river right, a tongue left of centre (to the visual right of the paddler seen here) and a hole on river left.
