"Lots of authentic, historic charm. Our suite in Orchard House was wonderfully roomy. Comfy bed. Housekeeping is iffy - the coffeemaker had not been cleaned from prior occupants. Too bad there is no coffee service at all in the mornings, not even a machine or carafe in the lobby. The "coffee shop" is woefully inadequate and isn't even open most days. I like the place, though, and would stay again. Just have to adjust my expectations."

"Nice clean hotel right in the main area of tiny, little Fort Davis. We got a code emailed the night before to let ourselves in. Places to eat were right next door or across the road. Note that they all close at 8 or 9PM. Super easy drive from the hotel to the state park, national park and observatory. The only downsides were that the floors were especially squeaky. "The location is a little drive but not far from the Big Bend park. The place had everything we needed. We ended up grilling every evening. The sunsets and sunrises were perfect at our location. (Blue Door). We both agreed that we would stay here again. "
