A unique experience for sure. I have never stayed anywhere like it. Very remote property, over 20 miles from the highway and the last 3 unpaved. Dark skies are outstanding although the main office building leaves its lights on all night frustratingly. Rooms are cozy, however the walls are paper thin and with no other sounds in this remote setting you can hear absolutely everything. Privacy is nonexistent. Bad Rabbit restaurant was delicious.Cold beers. Friendly staff. Opportunity for wildlife encounters. We saw a pack of 7 javelina come right up to our room. Needs a few more things to do on property as it is so far away from anything else. #1 would be a hot tub.

Off the beaten path! Great ranch lodge type experience! The people were friendly and the food at The Bad Rabbit Cafe was excellent! I wasn’t expecting it to be as far from Terlingua as it was but that also is what added to the character of the place! This area of Texas was on our “Bucket List” and Terlingua Ranch Lodge gave us authenticity to our experience. Thank you!

Nice, clean cabin with comfortable bedding. If you’re looking for remote—this is it! Beautiful night skies! The only negative was the rough road to the lodge. I read several other reviews that said the same thing and I thought we’d be fine since we were in a 4 wheel drive vehicle but we weren’t. My stomach hurt from bouncing so much (we were going way below the speed limit) and it takes forever to get back to the main road. If they can get the county to pave the rest of the road—I’d have nothing negative to say!

This place is wonderful really cool place to stay. The bad rabbit has an awesome vibe and lots of cool people to talk too. However, its really far from the park, easily 1.5 hour drive one way every day. The back entrance through marathon road really doesnt save much time. If you are going to drive this far anyways to see the park, might be better to stay in Alpine or something with more to do.

I’ve read many complaints about the drive into the ranch. No bad considering where u are at. Just take it slow. No tv in the room. Which is great. If ur out here u are just using the room to bath and sleep. Mattress was great. Has ac and heat. Bring ur own coffee pot. There is no sink except what’s in the bathroom. The cafe was awesome. Ate there several times and the food and service was great. If u come in off of 385. Make sure it has not rained in awhile. The road is dirt from 385 to Terlingua ranch road. I think about 16-20 miles. Hour drive. But u may see some wildlife while cruising that road. We saw several bobcats and mule deer and a javelina, while on that road in the day.

Very nice stay. Their bathroom needs an upgrade and 3 miles of bumpy road to reach the property makes it a 4/5 star experience.

For the price of 150 dollars/per night I was shocked to have AC/heating, that was very old, super loud and smelly. We had to turn it off for the night so we could sleep - and were lucky it was not so cold, there were only thin blankets and the walls are thin and provide no isolation at all. This was the main issue and I cannot imagine being there when it is too hot or too cold (which is in this dessert like enviroment almost always except some days during fall and spring which we were lucky enough to choose. The drive to Big Bend main hike trails is also quite long, so next time I would consider something else.

Super friendly and helpful people. Basic accommodations but clean and safe feeling. It’s a long drive but given other options we saw, we would stay here again if lodging in the national park wasn’t available.

The scenery was pretty but the unpaved 3 mile road off the paved road was really rough. The bathrooms really need updated. The tubs paint was wearing off and the shower curtain was disgusting. The Bad Rabbit Cafe saves this place!

Terlingua Ranch was definitely remote and it made for the most beautiful stargazing experience I’ve ever had! The room and amenities were exactly as pictured and the cleanliness was better than I imagined! The only drawback was that the evening I was there, there was a light that kept flashing frequently from the canyon behind the cabins - could not figure out what that was or why. The service at both the office/store and the restaurant were subpar, but I’d overlook that and consider staying there again. Would recommend!
