"We booked for a short 5 day stay and were glad to realise it was such a close proximity to restaurants, souvenir stores, Victoria Street and the famous Edinburgh castle! The staff were friendly upon arrival HOWEVER we were told by one gentlemen that our room was not ready but to rest assure when it would be, we would have a wonderful view of the castle during our stay. When our time came to check in a women gave us our room but it was on the opposite end of the hotel so we did not get the view...

"enjoyed our stay overall. at checkin we were told our room was small and asked if we wanted to upgrade. we declined and were delighted with our cosy room on the 8th floor which offered fantastic views across the city. staff were all very helpful. our only disappointment was breakfast on the first morning which cost £22.50 each. some of the food on the hot buffet was shrivelled and the fried eggs were set hard....disapponting for a hotel of this standard at that price.....even a premier inn...

"Spent two nights but honestly wished it was longer. The room was so cool, comfortable, with tons of little unique touches that really made it feel like a home. "Great hostel located in the center of old city, walking distance to everything. Our family of 5 rented an entire dorm room of 4 bunk beds and it was great. Each had a private curtain to pull and had 2 private showers and toilets in the room. A little loud in terms of thin walls and noisy floor when walking, but nothing a pair of ear plugs could not fix for light sleepers. Great bar attached made for a very fun place to hang out. "
