"Nice hostel in Otaru! Owners are friendly and willing to help out any questions you may have. No kerosene heaters required although there was a small one in my room that I used for a nightstand, not sure why it was there because there was also a wall mounted modern Hitachi ac/heater unit that was quiet and worked perfectly. This was my first hostel stay so the only thing I needed was a larger bath towel that was easily purchased a short walk away. Will be back!"

Of note, the private rooms are on the fifth floor accessible by a steep, narrow staircase - we needed to repack ski bags for our flight the next morning and it was a struggle to get them to our room. "Very clean place and friendly staff. Lawson is a 5 minute walk away. Subway station is about a 9 minute walk from the hostel (roads are well-paved so wheeling suitcase was fine) and restaurants are 7 minute walk."

"Affordable stay close within walking distance to Suskino Station, facilities are clean. Things to note: bed spaces can be a bit small depending on which room/arrangement and in room space for luggage/clothes drying may be limited. Overall, great place to stay, easy to meet people in lobby, convenient conbinis (7-11, Family Mart) and walking distance to well rated restaurants e.g. Ramai Sapporo Chuo, Ramen spots and Sandria (24/7 Sandwich Spot).
