"Once again the George Inn proved to be an excellent place to stay. As ever the staff were so friendly and helpful, allowing me to park my car before the actual check in time in their free parking area right outside the premises. "There was nothing to dislike about the Apple House. It was welcoming and friendly, very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent. If I need to stay in a York hotel again, I would choose the Apple House."

"Whilst the hotel was perfectly placed, clean and welcoming, I had specifically booked the hotel as it had a bar and pool table. Having a teenager with us, it was hoped we could use this at night. To find that the hotel bar closed at 8pm and there was no pool table was disappointing, had this been known we would have booked elsewhere. Would stay again but I’d book independently as YOU, HOTELS.COM did not pass on my payment to the Bootham and YOU told the Bootham I was 2 persons and needed to be charged double for breakfasts! I had to prove I’d paid for my stay when I arrived which made me feel very uncomfortable and I hold YOU, HOTELS.COM entirely responsible and in no way am I annoyed with the Bootham B&B. "This is a gem of a b and b! Lovely location but very convenient for York and the outlet. Catherine is very contactable and responsive. Breakfast was fabulous. We will be back. We had a meal at The Nags Head in Askham Bryan which was lovely. Couldn’t get a taxi though so book ahead if you can"

"Very few properties are perfect and this property had a few issues, but these pale in comparison to the convenience, location, professionalism, and cleanliness. The staff more were truly amazing and they themselves deserve five stars. They were accommodating, considerate, professional, efficient, kind, and truly represented the very best of York. I would be inclined to make these apartments my go to place for any future visits to York."

Great location with a touch of class

"On arrival Large gravel car park to the rear not great for suitcases with wheels and a £15 per day charge. The hotel reception certainly has that bistro feel the decor and area itself is very well looked after and not tired looking We stayed in the annex which is a 30 second walk from reception our room was called brown brothers …very clean with a comfortable bed and a large tv, iron, hair dryer, free safe, tea and coffee the bathroom was excellent, the shower was superb. Had a drink in the bar area a little on the pricey side no draught beer, At breakfast there’s a selection of cereals and fruit, toast etc the main part of your breakfast is from the menu the large English breakfast was excellent 9/10 from me. York centre is about 15-20 min walk the train station is a 10 min walk I wouldn’t normally add photos to a review I should of took these on arrival not departure A special to mention for the reception and restaurant staff … 10/10"
