"Arrived during a winter storm and the owner worked with snow removal company to clear the driveway.. house was clean and had some of the best snowy mountain views I have ever seen.. waking up in the master bedroom to snow covered trees was just stunning.. hope to return soon (four wheel drive recommended in snow otherwise it’s fine) "

"House was very nice. Owners have all normal amenities along with some other added touches such as coffee, toilet paper and paper towels. We had one issue and owner was quick to respond with a repair. The house wasvrt very comfortable. "

"Such a charming and cozy property. I knew when we walked along the garden path and entered to be welcomed by the kitchen hummingbird poster it was the place for us. The historic home was gorgeous -the wood floors and comfy furniture plus modern comforts mark this unique property. I can’t say enough about the quality furnishings, art, and other design elements. The live plants are another nice touch-beautiful! The local reading materials were great and so informative- we were reminded to visit...

"This property is exactly what we were looking for. It is remote but close enough to town. Propertu manager was very cordial and the rental is great. We enjoyed our wild and wonderful weekend full of music, food and views. "

"Better than advertised. Would recommend for for a group of 8 or less. Kitchen is. It equipped for cooking meals but Clifton Forge is only 25 mins away. Camp Director Chasity was very helpful before and during our stay. "

"Harriet was an outstanding hostess. She warmly greeted us and was available for any questions we had. Her home is a jewel. Beautiful, comfortable, well-equipped, and in a fabulous location. "So sad to have to write a less than positive review, but the house was not clean and it has a strong musty smell that appears to be coming up from the basement. The coffee pot had a bunch of mold growing in the filter compartment because the last renters didn't empty it when leaving, but apparently the cleaning crew didn't look at it either. The house had a lot of spiderwebs (and spiders) inside the foyer where you had to enter which again, the cleaning crew apparently hasn't paid attention...

"We loved this place! The house is very nice and is well-kept and you can tell that the owners really care about it. The property has a beautiful mountain stream running right past the house. The master bedroom (and bathroom) have an amazing view of the stream cascading through the forest, and the big deck was great for enjoying the sound of the rushing water. "this place was out in the middle of nowhere but was amazing. It was so quiet you could hear your ears ringing. the sky was clear and beautiful we saw shooting stars, the milky way and just beautiful night sky. if your in to books this is a place to explore. the owner had to have thousands of books and they were all well organized. some of the books were published in the early 1900’s. the host was very friendly and I am assuming that he put a lot of love into building this home. "We had a wonderful stay. All previous reviews are accurate. The kitchen was fully stocked if you would like to plan for a big meal. The road up to the mountain was smooth and well maintained. The house is very private /isolated as the community only has a few homes built at this time. Communication for any questions was prompt. We highly recommend this property!"
