"Extremely helpful regarding an early check in. Lovely spacious room and large shower room. Kettle and tea/coffee items replenished. Great breakfast. All in a lovely pub with friendly staff. Was a super stay just above Whitby with car park in quiet surroundings and view of Whitby Abbey. Would most definitely stay here again. "

"Unfortunately not a perfect stay which was very disappointing with it being my husband’s birthday, booked through Hotels.com so not allowed to use the pool unless we paid £45 each, I have never heard of this before.The rooms are very nice but paying £5 for nut or crisps is ridiculous. The breakfast was very underwhelming with minimal choice, awful cold poached eggs, cold plates, weak coffee, all left me feeling very sick! Not worth £291 for one night. "

"Lovely clean room, comfy bed. Ate in the bar & enjoyed a nice meal, friendly staff in bar area. It was not warm enough to sit in the garden but in warmer weather there were plenty of tables outside in a nice spacious garden. Hotel is situated away from the centre of whitby but is very handy for the park & ride bus service which works out much cheaper than using the town car parks. "

"Second visit to this lovely hotel. Staff are very friendly and clearly passionate about making your stay memorable. Room was spacious and cosy, Food was amazing and exciting, always great seeing a full restaurant. Good selection of beers and I think I counted 42 bottles of gin tantalise the taste buds. Breakfast was plentiful and relaxed. Having my dog with me, the hotel is very dog friendly and a lovely welcome pack with them in the bedroom and breakfast bowls by the tables. I can’t recommend...

"Had a lovely 2 nights at the dolphin hotel with a lovely view of the water. The staff was amazing & locked our key in the room by accident and couldn't find spare key but they called a locksmith who got us back in. The hotel is lovely and food is amazing. Will definitely stay here again. Wish we had longer. "

"Whitby is overpriced for overnight accommodation. Unless you are here for more than two nights the YHA is perfect. Great location (unless you don’t like walking uphill) beautiful views, free parking, basic but very comfortable beds and an amazing breakfast for £10 (2024) Excellent "
