"The staff make the entire experience of staying here; the best.They are a pleasure to have met and an asset to this hotel, Shrewsbury and set the bar. They are hardworking, approachable, friendly, and greet you warmly. I personally feel they're a pretty special bunch. Every single time I've stayed here, I honestly can't wait to return. If you live near or far, give this hotel and it's staff a chance, because you won't be disappointed. The breakfast is heaven, the room's etc are spotlessly clean, fantastic views of the Wrekin and Haughmond Hill too:) There's a chippy, Greggs' and a small convenient little Co Op also only about five minutes away, if you're after some lunch grub etc. I used to live up this part of town, and there's local bus services on both the london and wenlock road in to shrewsburys' town centre and also heading out of town to Telford etc aswell. Free car parking on hotel site, you just need to register your vehicle at reception, when checking in. I've had three stay's here now and loved every single one and can't thank the staff enough, for everything. So if you fancy travelling to our pretty " Town Of Flowers" which Shrewsbury is famous for ( aswell as it being globally known as scientist Charles Darwins' birthplace, and our fantastic anual Flower Show) Oh and Shrewsbury has three hundred black and white buildings too!:) So this is the place to come and stay:) "

"We arrived to be told the authorities decided to close certain roads in the town on a Saturday and Sunday after COVID until 4pm .The car park was a 3 minute walk away but getting to it by car proved difficult as the SAT nav wanted to take us along the closed roads .After much frustration we got there in the end .It's sign posted for use of guests of the lion hotel but you can parkin it if you are staying at the Prince Rupert. Having got that advice out of the way on to the Prince Rupert hotel. The ladies on the reception were wonderful.Pleasant ,warm welcoming and very helpful.The hotel had a good feeling about it and much bigger than we expected with a lounge bar and restaurant.Breakfast was included in the cost which was very nice and there was continental and cooked available.We had a twin room with a walk in shower as that was our choice.It was clean with everything you would need for the stay The hotel was in the middle of everything.What a beautiful place to visit . Quirky shops and an abundance of places to eat and have a drink.We ate at a Spanish restaurant and sat for 2 hours eating delicious tapas . I would definitely visit Shrewsbury again and certainly stay at the Prince Rupert.Next time we would be prepared for the parking!!!!"

"Beautiful property, staff were very friendly and attentive. Only negative is that the Brasserie dining area lacks character, the decor is more fitting for a cafeteria, not a lovely historic property. Food was good, but not great."

"I was upgraded to the Holiday Inn next door as the International Hotel was closed for the Christmas period. Lovely hotel. Staff excellent. Very clean and comfortable. Overall, very pleasant stay. Only issue was the heating but this was dealt with immediately on request. I would definitely book this hotel again."

"Clean room and bathroom was super tidy. It was flawless. Decent space and standard layout. Was dog friendly. Shower was nice and powerful. One of the bedside small lights didn’t work. Maybe needed a bulb changing. Nice to have some coffee with the kettle in the room. "
