"Surprised by joy! I was looking for a bargain for a business trip & found it at the Boot & Shoe - in Spades! A pretty ordinary, traditional facade fronts an open but still traditional bar area. It's definitely a pub with rooms - & what rooms! My double was large, with views out onto the market square. It had easy chairs, coffee maker plus a kettle, if preferred. "Fantastic little find and will definitely stay again. I would highly recommend this little gem of a place with such friendly staff. The wee lodges were epic. My only criticism was not knowing the wee pub across the road, the Stavely Arms isnrun by the same team, as we would have dinner there had we known. The breakfast was epic, and the bed was super comfy. Well worth the money we spent both on the accomodation and in the bar."

"Lovely quirky place with a very friendly, helpful manager. Our room was OK, rather basic but overall nice and clean. There are no breakfast facilities so it means a drive into Yarm - tho it's a really lovely town. The pub is very close by and does do evening meals. "
