"There was nothing to dislike about the Apple House. It was welcoming and friendly, very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent. If I need to stay in a York hotel again, I would choose the Apple House."

"Whilst the hotel was perfectly placed, clean and welcoming, I had specifically booked the hotel as it had a bar and pool table. Having a teenager with us, it was hoped we could use this at night. To find that the hotel bar closed at 8pm and there was no pool table was disappointing, had this been known we would have booked elsewhere. "Had a wonderful stay at a wonderful pub. Location is perfect and character of the pub is amazing. Lovely locally brewed beer and great food. Bad timing on our part that the brewery was closed so couldn't do the tour but gives u great excuse to go back. "

"Great B&B. Cosy room, excellent breakfast and welcoming pub downstairs. Would stay again but I’d book independently as YOU, HOTELS.COM did not pass on my payment to the Bootham and YOU told the Bootham I was 2 persons and needed to be charged double for breakfasts! I had to prove I’d paid for my stay when I arrived which made me feel very uncomfortable and I hold YOU, HOTELS.COM entirely responsible and in no way am I annoyed with the Bootham B&B. "Just come home from using this property as a pit stop on my trip. Host was very friendly and welcoming. Took care of my needs when i explained. My room had all i needed. The bed was so comfty. I didn't want to get up. Breakfast was lovely too. Nice shirt walk to town. Perfect. Only one little thing i would say, which can be amended. Is cold draft coming from under the door. So maybe a draft cushion or a flap fitted to bottom of the door to stop all the warmth getting out and cold coming in....

"We had a fantastic 1 night stay here. Val, the host, was super friendly and welcoming. She couldn't do enough for us and made a lovely breakfast. The location is great, 5mins walk into town and ideally situated for exploring the Yorkshire moors, towns and coastlines."

"We had a wonderful 3-night stay and Helene was the perfect host. The room was large and clean with a very comfortable bed. The pre-ordered breakfast was delicious. The location was perfect as a base for everywhere we wanted to visit in Yorkshire and right next to Pickering centre. Would certainly highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Only point to make is, if wanting to visit steam train or Pickering castle, check opening times. "

"Very few properties are perfect and this property had a few issues, but these pale in comparison to the convenience, location, professionalism, and cleanliness. The staff more were truly amazing and they themselves deserve five stars. They were accommodating, considerate, professional, efficient, kind, and truly represented the very best of York. I would be inclined to make these apartments my go to place for any future visits to York."

"The apartment is in an excellent location right by the river, two minutes walk from several restaurants and five minutes walk to York centre. It was lovely and warm and the garage a huge bonus. The kitchen was well equipped. We were surprised that there was no welcome pack as is standard in self catering accommodation and the kettle was heavily lime scaled. We bought some descaler but it needs several attempts so we had to use a pan to heat water for drinks. The person in the accommodation...

Great location with a touch of class

"On arrival Large gravel car park to the rear not great for suitcases with wheels and a £15 per day charge. The hotel reception certainly has that bistro feel the decor and area itself is very well looked after and not tired looking We stayed in the annex which is a 30 second walk from reception our room was called brown brothers …very clean with a comfortable bed and a large tv, iron, hair dryer, free safe, tea and coffee the bathroom was excellent, the shower was superb. Had a drink in the bar area a little on the pricey side no draught beer, At breakfast there’s a selection of cereals and fruit, toast etc the main part of your breakfast is from the menu the large English breakfast was excellent 9/10 from me. York centre is about 15-20 min walk the train station is a 10 min walk I wouldn’t normally add photos to a review I should of took these on arrival not departure A special to mention for the reception and restaurant staff … 10/10"

"We had a fantastic time in york the hotel was situated close to the centre. Very well organised and all staff were very helpful friendly and polite. The room over looked the carpark and was very clean and warm. Breakfast was served in the dining room which is a great set up and the full english breakfast was excellent. "
