"We were disappointed in the beach and surrounding facilities. It is an extremely large area so other parts of the beach may be different. There was only one beach bar at night that only served frozen pizza, so unless you did a big drive it was very limited. We didn’t want to drive up the steep roads again. The hotel is very clean but basic. It’s lovely to hear the sea at night with the doors open! "

"We stayed 2 weeks in one of the 'Suitas' and were pleasantly surprised to find it was exactly as seen in the photos. The location is very central to the city, beaches, and other key areas. "Lovely little villa, with friendly staff. The desk isn't maned all the time but the owners are very proactive in being there when they need to. Studio was ideal size for us and our baby who enjoyed crawling around. Didn't have the views the other rooms had but was tucked away in the corner so had shade and was cool. ideal for a paled skinned family with a young baby. "Wouldn't call this exactly a hotel, it's more like some family owned bunch of rooms in a big house. But they are well maintained and convenient enough, although quite simple. The location is nice, meters from the sea and a lot of restaurants on the promenade, the beach however is about 10 minute walk away. Nice, quiet place, good base for exploring the western part of Crete. Very friendly staff, well prepared with information and hand-enhanced printed maps for the region."
