"Good position for overnight stop close to mainn road, breakfast was fine, room was comfortable however bathroom was very small and shower was cramped."

Eventually one (extremely surly) staff member with poor attitude opened the door and dismissively pointed to envelopes containing the room keys before disappearing in a cloud of disinterest without providing the front door key code which the other...

"I am writing this review on behalf of my daughter. We originally booked it for one night only, but due to changing family circumstances she had to add another night. She doesn't speak French, so she was very impressed with the staff ability to communicate with her and help her with all her needs. Customer service is what made this property to stand out. Thank you so much."

"Nice, clean room & very friendly staff, but the outside, on first impression, looked like it could do with a fresh lick of paint & tidy up. Great for a one night stop over though, at a good price & offering a reasonable breakfast in the morning. "

"Hotel Mercure is located in the hearing of Angouleme and right across the street from the Halles - a unique venue much akin to a farmer market with patisseries, bars, and wonderful food. The staff was wonderful and shout out to our bartender. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. The rooms are good sized, very clean, and fresh."

Window in bedroom was large but no way to keep it open just a little for fresh air. Would stay again and recommend it to others."
