"I would agree with other reviews but to offer a different perspective, we chose this rental for two reasons, location & access for one of us using a wheelchair. Our experience of trying to book rentals has shown that people advertising rentals are generally scared of confirming accessibility because it is so personal and subjective. "The location is on the edge of a quiet village and with only subtle sounds of frogs from the pond and whinnies from the horse it was bliss. This was our 2nd stay and would love to come back again. Transport is required to access local shops but the ride out is so lovely it isnt a worry. We stayed for the 80th anniversary of D-Day and found it a good base to stay for the events. "Maddie (the owner)was there if required and very helpful. Well equipped and quiet place to stay. If you have children there is a vast amount od toys and a toy shed. There are chickens at the end of the garden and love to be fed any scraps you have left. The garden is well kept and very pleasant. I give it 5 stars."

The owners house was closer than it seems in the photos but she left us to ourselves unless we needed something. "We were here twice on a return travel from the Netherlands to the south of France. I would rate this location as OK for a transit, I would however not recommend staying here for a longer holiday because it is very noisy especially when there were other guests in the same building. "The hotel is a mansion built in the 18th century and the decoration mainly retained the feel of that time. In the room the furniture did show the age but we didn't mind. Our room has a balcony and in the morning you can see the sun coming up to greet you. The hotel staffs are very polite and helpful. The hotel has its own private parking which is convenient if you are driving. The hotel is just 5 minutes walking distance to the old port. I will recommend this hotel."

"Staff were excellent -very helpful and kind. Parking is a challenge -you need to book before hand and there is a weird car lift to a very small underground car park -not for the claustrophobic. "

"Nice budget hotel, in a good location with a decent Italian restaurant and a nice pub/burger place within a minutes walk. Lovely staff, always friendly and the breakfast is good value. We stay with our dogs en route to and from the UK and will be back. Thanks "

"We spent a nin bnb properties all wonderful but it was so nice to be back in a regular clean hotel. Great bed ..firm. my room had a balcony ... check in great , included breakie great..they even had fresh eggs you could soft boil ..never seen that before. I hosed the breakfast time and showd uo at 6:15 ..the weekend it starts at 7:30. The gent setting it up graciously allowed us to participate early. Parking was great but hard to find at first... under the building but entrance is ALL the wat around the block. Even had a lounge chair to put on the deck outside the room. "
