"We stayed for 5 days & enjoyed our stay in the Lake. We were in the top floor apartment which has a lot of stairs to climb, no lift. It is a little noisy as it’s right beside the main road so bring ear plugs as that made it better at night to sleep. The second room in the apartment is difficult to stand in as its ceiling is very low due to being an attic. "We were so pleasantly surprised by this wonderful little hotel! It was beautifully situated by Lake Como, within easy walking distance to the lake. "Instructions for check in were detailed and we had no problems. We were able to find a parking spot in the garage but be warned there are only a few and it's first come first serve. "Everything about the house is fantastic with great views across Lake Como. The hosts, Danielle and Marco were flgreat and greeted us upon arrival. We were very spoilt with a bottle of bubbly and delicious snacks. The house was a little further out of Varenna than we thought, but we love to walk and we think we left fitter than when we arrived. We would definitely recommend staying at El Lavandee."
