"A quirky old Maltese house. Very clean and comfortable room and bed with lovely harbour views. The roof terrace was lovely but the lighting was all from the floor upwards and made seeing to walk around rather dangerous. Also unable to see to read on the balcony too due to the lighting and no comfy chairs to relax outside. "

"Definitely the most basic hostel I've stayed in. There are no staff and no doors on the dorms so minimal privacy. There are three floors and you need to pass through every other dorm to get to the top floor. Therefore, if you're staying on the first or second floor, people will be passing through your room to get to the floors above. "Spacious accommodation, nicely furnished, but it was grubby in the bathroom and kitchen, with mould in shower and on the door of the bathroom and around the kitchen sink. This could have easily have been rectified by good housekeeping. The staff at VBL were very friendly and helpful."
