"Our family of 5 enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The raging river so close to our balcony was impressive after a few days of heavy rain. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped and we had plenty of space for 5. A couple of minor issues being advertised washer/dryer was actually a paid laundry service and pillow menu did not exist when requested although advertised. "

"Close to all in Montverde. Beautiful gardens. We had a car so everything was easily accessible. Abit dated but clean and well maintained. I loved the kitchen. A great homebase for Montverde,'s attractions. "

"Alvaro was very responsive. The inside is tastefully decorated and the garden area is stunning and peaceful. We also liked the luxury bathroom. Only a 10 minute drive to the city. Our family loved it!"

"Great location and close to a couple nice restaurants and bakery. Nice to have washer and dryer as an option even though there was a limit to 1 load during our stay. Checkin was simple and clear. The condo was nicely decorated with adequate kitchen amenities provided for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed our time here and felt the price was very reasonable. We loved trying out the traditional coffee maker with the coffee that was provided as well!"

"Cabañas del Rio was a wonderful place to stay in La Fortuna. We stayed in the family unit with three queen beds and a kitchen. It worked out great for our family of 6. Wonderful garden trail to watch for birds and frogs in the morning. Felt at home here! Clean, comfortable beds, spacious. Thank you for a great stay! "

"Spacious accommodations and friendly host. Host was responsive and very helpful. Beautiful views but in the Lake Arenal area, which is quite secluded. There is one small, delicious restaurant 400 meters away, but not walkable. LaFortuna is approximately an hour drive, must have a car if staying here. It was a very pleasant stay, but not in the location listed."

"Overall our stay was lovely, the area is gorgeous, the house was clean, we were provided ample breakfast food and the restaurant next door was affordable and delicious.Unfortunately the house is rather drafty, and we had ants come in more than once. There was also construction going on right outside the house which was a bit noisy and distracting. Although, to be fair, the owner did warn us of it, but we weren’t aware of it until after we arrived."

"Rooms were quiet until we were awakened by the wonderful sounds of birdsong. Professional massage parlor located directly across the street, and mini-market one block away, as well as bicycle rental. Gated entrance added to our feeling of security. Wish we could have stayed longer!"

"Most nicest and luxurious hotel in La Fortuna. The best location. Nice view of the Volcano.Staff was great, attentive and friendly. Hotel common areas and rooms were very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was nicely equipped to make your stay comfortable. Will definitely stay again when coming back to visit. Highly recommend."

Beautiful, amazing stay!

"We loved our stay at Lost Iguana!! ALL of the staff were very helpful, friendly and responsive. The resort was beautiful with a hiking trail and other activities. The room was fantastic with a private patio and super cool outdoor shower. We will definitely be back!"

"Unfortunately due to tight international layovers we missed our first two days in the area, and only stayed one night here. The staff was so accommodating and nice and even tried to look to extend our stay with them (even though we couldn’t because we already had another stay booked elsewhere). Most of the staff was fluently bilingual. The reception desk was very helpful at finding good local places. What a beautiful, unique place! I wish we could’ve actually enjoyed being here. Breakfast was delicious! "

Relaxing, Beautiful, Comfortable

"The staff were friendly and helpful. The parking (on-site) is monitored as are the grounds which provided a good sense of security. The property was immaculately maintained in terms of landscaping and cleanliness. The included breakfast buffet was plentiful and clean. Our room was clean, but we did not find the bed to be all that comfortable (it was a bit too hard). The room service took extra time and attention to fold our pool towels into a beautiful design, which was an unexpected and appreciated touch! We were a little underwhelmed with the buffer dinner option at the Pyramid restaurant and did not try the Italian restaurant on site. The pools were clean and not very crowded! We also had a great time at the spa (massage and facial) with prompt service and therapists who went the extra mile to help us have a relaxing experience! "
