"Loved traditional styled Japanese hotel. Have read bad reviews saying staff don’t speak English and are not friendly, but that is not fair. They might not speak English (but are they obligated to speak English? No!), but we found them very polite and sweet. Before you complained, check your manners. "Hide (owner) is such a kind and compassionate person. On arrival he gave us fruit and there were many snacks provided in the rooms. Many of the other days he would give us more fruit and then a lovely gift when we left. Every day he was so helpful in removing all the snow from our vehicle before we left for the ski fields. Hide is what makes this hotel such a pleasant place to stay. Thanks Hide, we loved staying with you!"
