"It is really a superb hotel. In Matera to be able to sleep in a room "cave" is quite special. The room #5 is large and had everything we needed except a big mirror. The only one was a small square one in the open bathroom above the lavabo and the lighthening was more romantic then useful there! I know it is not the same in every room as every room has a special design and decoration. The reception and the breakfast room are also beautiful. "We arrived after 6:00 PM on a Saturday, so parking down the street was convenient and free. It was just a short walk from there, but the hotel itself was a little difficult to find because the sign on the building is tiny. The room was beautiful--clean and super comfortable. There isn't much directly by the hotel, but a couple of blocks away is a very nice area with shops and several restaurant choices. "
