"The flat was in an ideal location for our specific needs, though a little away from Waihi Beach itself. It was spacious and roomy, immaculately presented with everything we needed, and we had a most comfortable stay. Only concern was the lack of a handbasin in the bathroom/toilet, which meant washing hands and cleaning teeth in a basin also used for dishwashing - future guests may find this more of a deal breaker than we did, and owners could usefully consider rectifying if possible. There are great wooded walking paths on the extensive property, offering opportunity to encounter quail as well as a surprise sighting of a pair of rosella. "The cottages are on the side of a mountain overlooking Thames Bay. Beautiful! There were chairs outside on the deck for viewing and our cottage had a full wall window to view from inside, The property had wonderful foliage and the hosts are lovely, The cottage was very clean. The bathroom and room we had were small, (there's different sizes), but the view made up for it. In the mini fridg there was chocolate liqueur and a couple cookies. (nice touch) We absolutely loved it!"
