"Troutbeck Inn is a gem of a place. The owners are lovely and we had a good laugh with them. The food is second to none and is locally sourced and cooked fresh. We stayed for 2 nights in September whilst walking around the Ullswater area and the location is superb. Right by a main road for good access but without an intrusive noise from the road. I'm sure we will be staying here again if we plan more walks in future."

We had booked a table for dinner but unfortunately the table we’d been allocated wasn’t great so we dined elsewhere. "Very friendly staff in popular and welcoming village local. We only stayed one night and didn't eat here though the menu looked great. Obviously popular with locals and tourists alike for a small village it was busy on the Saturday night we stayed. Room was clean and comfortable though dated. The bed was a bit older than some but perfectly pleasant. The surrounding area is stunning with plenty to do within a short drive and lots of walking on your doorstep. Overall a most enjoyable stay. "

"Horrendous journey to the Fox and Pheasant. Worried we would miss the dinner cut off time we called through. Been traveling for over 10 hours! No problem arrive very tied to a lovely bowl of soup. Feel in to bed and had an amazing sleep. Set off next morning after a fantastic breakfast and a lovely packed lunch. Defo stop off again"
