"Had a great stay in New Buffalo. We were lucky in October to still be able to enjoy the pool to cool off after frequent dips in the hot tub! Tons of space inside and outside for big groups. Excellent communication and flexibility with host. Walking distance to downtown and beach (though not sure would want to haul anything more than a towel and light weight chair on that walk). Would definitely stay again. Thanks for a wonderful stay Heather!"

"The house was clean and quite adequate for our 3 day stay. We met Mr. Marshall when we arrived (he was there with a crew working on furniture and some repairs). He was very pleasant, as was the crew. We like to cook for ourselves. The stove was not completely functional -- shelves do not fit, and the interior needs a good cleaning. The towel rack above the second floor bathroom toilet is pulling of the wall and could use some attention. Rick Ginther (for the Ginther Siblings)"

"Great house to stay in while visiting South Bend. Beds/linens extremely clean, house overall is very clean and comfortably fits a large family/group of friends. Convenient to all stores and to Notre Dame campus -a short walk or a quick car ride. We highly recommend this property and would consider renting again on our next visit."

"The title of this review tells it like it is. The Pusatera's have done everything right for the past 10 yrs that our group has vacationed at the Royal Retreat. "Main house is very nice. Guest house has a trundle. You could squeeze 3-4 in there and it has it's own 3/4 bath. Smells musty even with the AC on. Property is 1-1/2 blocks from beach but then 70 steep stairs or steep dune walk to shoreline. Not good if you have some orthopedic issues. Not sure about the boats. They may have been at the beach but the canoe is alongside the house. There are plenty of beach chairs/umbrellas/toys in the property shed and a wagon. There is no parking...
